Why Get Permanent or Semi-Permanent Makeup?
Just the other day I had a man ask me on Facebook, “Why in the world would anyone get permanent makeup!?”. He actually asked me in a scolding way as if there was something wrong with the idea of someone doing this to themselves. It caught me off guard honestly, but I just had to remind myself that not everyone understands the way permanent makeup can change lives. I provided him with the information of why these types of procedures can help people and he seemed to be okay with my answer.
With that being said, let’s visit some of the reasons why someone might actually consider having a procedure done…
To start things off let’s talk about eyebrows. Eyebrows are the frame of your face and can make a huge difference in your appearance. Recently everyone everywhere is obsessing over brows, especially now that so many before and after photos are filling their social media accounts. You may be one of the lucky one’s who were blessed with a full beautiful brow, but what if you weren’t. What if you were one of those who struggle with sparse or asymmetrical brows or even those who have no brows at all. Over-tweezing, over-waxing, or medical conditions such as Trichotillomania or Alopecia can definitely effect how your eyebrows appear. Now imagine these people having to “draw” on or “fill”” in their eyebrows everyday. It’s time consuming, frustrating and no one AIN’T GOT NO TIME FOR THAT! Right? So having a Microblading procedure or other types of eyebrow tattoos means that they never have to worry about doing their brows again. And, not only do they not haveĀ to worry about doing their brows but they also don’t have to worry about them coming off while exercising, dancing, or having fun in the sun. Life changing!
Take a look at just how much not having eyebrows can make a difference in someones appearance…
No one really thinks it can make such a big difference, but believe it or not eyebrows are a big deal in the way people not only appear but in the way they feel. I have to say that eyebrow procedures are probably one of my favorites because of the reactions I get from my clients. After their procedure is done and they look at themselves in the mirror and see their results they are so happy! Some clients have just gone on and on at just how much they love their new eyebrows and some even cry. It is incredibly heartwarming and rewarding to be able to do this for others and part of the reason why I love doing what I do!
Next, we have your eyeliner. Eyeliner has a way of opening your eyes, making them pop, and giving them a boost of gorgeousness. Aside from having to be bothered with applying your eyeliner everyday, imagine not having it smudge or smear throughout the day. You know what it’s like trying to wipe it clean and make sure you don’t look like you just woke up or like you’ve had your eyeliner on since yesterday! With all kidding aside, one of my favorite reasons to do this procedure for a client is because they can’t do it themselves. Applying your eyeliner takes a steady hand and attention to detail. I had a client who has tremors in her hands and she can’t hold the eyeliner still enough to outline her eye. I also had a client who’s vision isn’t what it used to be and it’s hard for her to see what she’s trying to do. Now, both of these clients don’t have to worry about doing this ever again. Eyeliner procedures aren’t meant to be dramatic as if you’re doing your makeup to go out for a good time. No, these procedures are meant only to enhance your natural beauty and give you an everyday look that can be worn for work, play, or leisure. For more dramatic looks, just apply more eyeliner to what you already have and your good to go!
And let’s not forget about your lips. Lips can be soft, sweet, sexy or sultry! Applying lipstick or lipliner is fairly quick and easy unless you’re a complete perfectionist like myself and spend more time than wanted trying to get them just right. Having a lip procedure isn’t as life changing as eyebrows or eyeliner can be, but it can still make life a whole lot easier. How you ask? Well, for one you don’t have to worry about your lipstick coming off with eating or drinking. You’ll have no more lipstick on your teeth incidents. And a favorite, no more lipstick coming off while kissing that special someone. A lip procedure also isn’t meant to be dramatic but more of a soft lip stain look. Once healed it appears as if you’ve applied your favorite lipstick, dabbed it a couple of times with a tissue and being left with a beautiful more natural color and look. However, applying a gloss over it does bring out the color and gives it a beautiful shine. Again, if you’re wanting more of a dramatic look for whatever reasons, you can just apply any lipstick right over it and viola, perfect!
So there you have it. There’s just some of the reasons of why someone would have permanent makeup done on themselves.
